Distance sales (consumer cancellation rights)

If you buy at a distance (online / phone / email) as a consumer, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days starting the day after delivery, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (subject to the legal framework).
If you cancel — what you should do

  • Tell us clearly that you are cancelling (we’ll confirm the next steps).
  • Take reasonable care of the vehicle until it is returned/collected.
  • Avoid using the vehicle other than what is reasonably necessary to assess it and/or organise its return.

Deductions for use/diminished value

If the vehicle has been used/handled more than necessary to establish its nature/characteristics/functioning, a lawful deduction for diminished value may apply (this is assessed using objective evidence such as mileage/photos/checklists).

Refund timing

Under the legal framework, refunds are generally processed after the vehicle is returned (or you provide evidence you have sent it back), and within the statutory timeframe.
